ABOUT BOOSTERS
What Is Boosters?
Boosters is a parent run, volunteer-led organization dedicated to supporting the athletic programs at Urbana High School. Boosters provides financial support along with the volunteer hours necessary to bridge the gap between what FCPS provides and what is additionally needed to fund a championship caliber program. The support Boosters provides allows our coaches to coach and athletes to play.

What DOES Boosters Do?

Advocates for each sport program to fill gaps and meet needs

Connects teams to resources that fuel team spirit — team dinners, apparel, banquet logistics, senior nights

Works in partnership with URC to develop/support the next generation of UHS athletes — mentoring, camps, youth nights

Sources donors and organizes fundraisers for individual sports and capital campaigns

Forms community partnerships with continuous donors

Proactively addresses coming needs as the program grows

Runs concessions and apparel with volunteer support for stadium home games

Maintains the facilities so it is comfortable for the players, coaches and visitors to our athletic program

Cultivates “CommUnity” relationships, within UHS walls, with other organizations sharing similar goals (i.e band boosters, drama boosters, PTSA and Young Life)
What has Boosters Done?

New speaker system in the stadium (fully donated)

New mixer for stadium speakers

New iPad to play pre-game warm ups, safety message and national anthem

New pole vault mat purchased with support from FCPS and Track & Field teams

Painted storage containers

Support the gymnasium in new scorer table

Stadium improvements, power washing and landscaping

Support for state championship charter busses

Meet the Coaches night dinner and coach gifts

Implementation of business TeamSnap account and CheddarUp for seamless collection of fees and communication between athletic department, boosters and our athlete families

New spirit banners

Partnered with PTSA for spring mulch sale

Weight room re-vamp, personal record board and bluetooth speaker system
